FAQ
i injured myself last weekend but have not seen my doctor. Can I be seen for physical therapy?
YES. You can schedule an appointment and be seen by your physical therapist. Your therapist will refer you to an MD if necessary, however many injuries can resolve quickly with immediate care and treatment with physical therapy.
do i need a prescription from my doctor to come to physical therapy?
NO. California law states you may obtain physical therapy treatment without a prescription utilizing Direct Access for a condition that has not been evaluated by an MD.
how many visits will i need?
The goal of physical therapy is to create independence in self care and empower YOU to maintain the strength and mobility that you achieve in your treatments. Patients are often seen 1-2x/wk over the course of 4-8 weeks, as determined by the therapist’s evaluation. Naturally, patients that are motivated and compliant with therapist exercises and modifications progress more quickly and achieve a more optimal state of function.
do you accept health insurance?
Synergy Integrative Physical Therapy will provide you as the patient with a Superbill for submission to your insurance for reimbursement. Your insurance company will reimburse you directly per your contract. All patients are encouraged to contact their insurance company to learn what your insurance plan will reimburse and if any pre-authorization is required.
We are not contracted with Medicare. Medicare patients are required by law to see a contracted Medicare provider.
